I’m a journalist in Pittsburgh, previously in Beijing.

I’ve written about tech and culture for Wired, The Guardian, The Economist’s 1843 Magazine, Washington Post, Deadspin, Vice, CNN Style, Jezebel, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency and more. My work has been recommended in Longreads’ “Best of 2019: Food Writing,” Bloomberg Businessweek’s “Jealousy List,” Longform and The New York Times.

I hold a Master of Fine Arts in nonfiction writing, and I’m currently an editor at Industry Dive. I previously lived in China for six years, where I was an editor at Caixin Global, and before that, I was Editor-in-Chief of the magazine That’s Beijing.
